Incident Reporting Policy

Birmingham Furs takes all incidents, both online and in-person, seriously. We are committed to thoroughly investigating every report we receive with an impartial and objective approach. All evidence provided will be carefully reviewed.

If you wish to report an incident, please email the Birmingham Furs team directly at brumfurs@gmail.com. The email should include the following details:

  • Your full name

  • The names of all parties involved

  • The time and location where the incident occurred

As a minimum requirement, we ask that all supporting evidence be included with your report. This will help ensure a fair and thorough investigation.

Sexual Abuse and Violent Conduct:

In cases involving sexual or violent conduct, we strongly encourage you to report the incident to local authorities. They will provide a crime number, which should be included as part of your evidence. This will assist us in processing the incident and may be used in making decisions regarding venue bans.

If the incident involves police involvement, the accused will be issued a temporary ban across all platforms and events for the duration of the investigation. If the police report does not result in further action, the Birmingham Furs team will assess the evidence provided and make a decision about lifting the ban. In the event of a criminal conviction, a lifetime ban will be formally issued.

Birmingham Furs have no direct involvement in criminal investigations, our staff team will leave such matters to the relevant authorities to investigate.

In the event a public official requests communication with the Birmingham Furs team, they may reach us by the aforementioned email address.

Venue Bans:

The Birmingham Furs team is responsible for issuing venue bans when necessary. In certain cases, venue bans must be presented to venue management, who will confirm the permanent removal of the individual in question. To assist in this process, we may share all relevant evidence with venue staff.

Case Numbers:

All incidents that meet our standard of proof will be assigned a case number. Once the case is confirmed, a member of our team will contact you to inform you of the assigned case number. Please reference this case number when submitting any additional information or evidence related to the incident.

Response Times:

Birmingham Furs is a volunteer-run community. Our team members are dedicated to providing a fair and thorough process; however, as volunteers, we are unable to guarantee specific response times. We kindly ask for your patience during the investigation process. Your report will be reviewed as quickly as possible, but please be aware that complex cases may take longer to resolve.

Protection of Team Members:

Birmingham Furs is committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for both our members and our volunteer staff. Any allegations involving a staff member will be taken seriously and handled with care. In such cases, the accused staff member will not be involved in the investigation or decision-making process related to the allegation. This is to ensure impartiality and fairness throughout the investigation.
